The trailhead for the Gem Lake Trail is located at the end of Estes Park’s famous scenic drive, the Peak to Peak Highway. To get there, take Highway 36 west from Estes Park for about 12 miles. The trailhead will be on the left hand side of the road. There is a large parking lot at the trailhead, as well as a restroom.
